You should consider the following. 1 How deep is my well/borehole? If the well is 20m deep and the max.

Pump pressure is 5bar, the water comes with a pressure of 3bar directly from the well. 2 How far away from the well can water be delivered? Depending on the wire cross-section, considerable pressure losses in some cases are taken into account. Basically, the water line should not be substantially less than the connecting pieces of the pump. In a conventional hose with 25mm inner diameter and smooth inside wall approximately 0.2-0.5bar pressure loss per 25-30m hose length should be considered.

3 Which output is available to me at the highest water discharge point above ground level? The right pump should deliver water at the desired flow rate with a pressure of about 2.5 - 3.5bar (conventional water pressure in the mains water pipe) from the tap. Calculate the installation depth of the pump plus the level of the deepest point of withdrawal and divide the value by 10 (precisely 9.81). Deduct this number from the maximum pressure of the pump.

Water will be delivered at the highest point with this pressure. The maximum output results from the characteristic curve of the respective pump at the calculated pressure. 4 What is the diameter of my well? The maximum pump diameter should be minimum 3 - 4mm smaller than the well/borehole diameter. 5 How much sand can my well manage?

Well pumps may not operate with sandy water. When drifting sand is present, by means of a screw pump such as SCREW-STAR all the sand is pumped out until only clear water comes out. Which output do I need at the highest extraction point? The output of well pumps decreases with increasing discharge height due to design. This is reflected in the pump curve. A rule of thumb: the optimum performance for pump operation is located approximately in the middle of the pump curve. At this point, the pump motor operates most effectively and consumes the least energy based on the flow rate of water. You now have an idea as a rule which output your pump must produce. Therefore, select a pump which has an output at its maximum performance. The pressure must of course be sufficient for the desired application.
